November 13th from 6pm to 3am

Brothers Kyle Garrison and Caleb Whitmer at the first Game-A-Thon in April, 2010.

Like many other ideas, Game-A-Thon was just that. Bond 722 Nick Ferro presented the idea of Game-A-Thon to the executive committee of the Indiana Kappa chapter of Phi Delta Theta at Ball State University. After an approval the first event was held in April 2010.. It was hosted in the Student Center and raised around $250 to be donated to Child's Play. From there, it has only continued to grow.

The second one was held in the fall semester of 2010 using a larger venue in the hopes of drawing a larger crowd. The venue allowed for more equipment and a show put on by Ball State’s improv comedy group, ABSO. These initiatives proved successful, and Game-A-Thon raised $800 that year.

The most recent Game-A-Thon was the 6th annual event last November. It was held in the Student Center Ballroom once again, and even though official attendance isn't tracked, it

appeared to be a record-breaking amount of attendees. This event also introduced raffles in the hopes of attracting more audiences than just the typical gamer demographics. It raised around $1200 for Child's Play.
